1. The Championship will be a match play competition: 

2. Entries

       a) There will be a maximum of 64 players.

       b) If entries exceed 64 there will be a ballot by eliminating the highest handicaps. 

       c) Open to competitors with a category one or two handicap only.

3. Qualifying 

      i)   36 Hole Qualifying on one day.

      ii)  Top 16 Scratch scores play matchplay, seeded by their qualifying scores.

      iii)  Top 8 Nett scores of remaining scores, will play matchplay. Seeded by their qualifying score.

      iv)  Each match will consist of 18 holes.

Any match finishing all square after 18 holes will continue until a player wins a hole.

3. Winner and Prizes   

     a) The winner shall be presented with the trophy at the Prize Presentation, and shall receive a replica of the Trophy.

     b) Prize vouchers shall be awarded from the winner down to the quarter finalists.

     c) The Trophy shall be kept at the home club of the winner.

Note: The above conditions of Competition must be read in conjunction with Jersey Golf Union General Conditions.

1. The Championship will be played over four rounds.

    a) The first two rounds of 18 holes stroke play will be played over two consecutive days.

    b) The players with the 16 lowest gross scores and those tying for 16th place will qualify to  play the final two rounds on the third day.

    c) For the final two rounds players will be seeded according to their position after the first  two rounds starting with the 16th (and ties) position 

        down to the leading player.

2. Entries

    a) There will be a maximum of 40 players.

    b) If entries exceed 40 there will be a ballot by eliminating the higher handicaps. Players  eliminated by ballot will be kept on the reserve list. If 

        players are not offered a place  entry fees will be returned.

3. Winners and Prizes

Championship Winner

   a) The winner of the Championship shall be presented with the trophy at the Prize  Presentation, and shall receive a replica of the Trophy.

   b) Prize vouchers shall be awarded to the top eight places.

   c) The Trophy shall be kept at the home club of the winner.

Handicap Winner

   a) The winner of the Handicap Trophy will be the player returning the best net score after the first two qualifying rounds.

   b) Prize vouchers shall be awarded to the top four places.

   c) The Trophy shall be kept at the home club of the winner.

1. The Championships will be played in two stages:

Stage One:  Stroke Play (two rounds of 18 holes foursomes stroke play in one day).

Stage Two:  

a) Scratch

    i) The pairs with the 4 lowest gross scores after the stroke play rounds will compete in the match play stages. In the case of ties for the fourth place, 

       stroke play count-back (JGU General Condition 8) will apply.

   ii) They will be seeded according to their qualifying finishing place.

b) Handicap

    i) The pairs with the 4 lowest handicap scores after excluding the four pairs with the lowest gross scores in the qualifying rounds will compete in the 

       match play stages. In the case of ties for the fourth place, stroke play count-back (JGU General Condition 8) will apply.  ii) They will be seeded 

       according to their handicap qualifying finishing place.

c) The Matches

    i) In both (a) and (b) above each match will consist of one round of 18 holes.

   ii) In respect of b) above the team in each match with the highest combined score will receive strokes in accordance with “CONGU” rules.

  iii) Any match that finishes “all square” after 18 holes will continue until one side wins  a hole.

    b) If entries exceed 40 there will be a ballot by eliminating the higher handicaps. Players  eliminated by ballot will be kept on the reserve list. If players

1. The Competition will be played over 18 holes stableford.

    a) Players must be 55 years of age or over on the starting date of the competition.

    b) Players not having a “competition” CONGU handicap (General condition 4c) may be  allowed to play but not eligible to win the “Rumball Trophy”.

2. Entries

   a) The JGU may limit the number of entries.

   b) If the entry limit is exceeded there will be a ballot by eliminating the higher handicaps. 

   c) Players eliminated by ballot will be kept on the reserve list. If players are not offered a  place entry fees will be returned.

3. Winners and Prizes

   a) The winner of the Rumball Trophy will be the player returning the highest number of  stableford points.

   b) Prize vouchers shall be awarded to the winners and runners up in four age flights.

            i) 55  -  64 years

           ii) 65  -  69 years

          iII) 70 years and over

1.  Stage One : The Championships

The Championships are divided into three categories.

Category One:  Seniors Championship

    a) 18 holes scratch stroke play qualifying competition played from the Championship tees.

    b) Open to players with a “competition” CONGU handicap of 10 or less. 

    c) Players must be 55 years of age or over on the starting date of the competition.

Category Two:  Seniors Championship Age Groups

   a) 18 holes handicap stableford qualifying competition played from the Clubs forward tees.

   b) The qualifying competition consists of three age Groups.

                 i) 55  -  64 years Boomer Flight

                 ii) 65  -  69 years Horton Flight

   c) Open to players with a “competition” CONGU handicap.

   d) Players must be aged 55 - 69 years of age on the starting date of the competition.

Category Three:  Super Seniors Championship

  a) 18 holes handicap stableford qualifying competition played from the Clubs forward tees.

  b) The qualifying competition consists of two age Groups.

                i) 70  -  74 years Braid Flight

               ii) 75 years and over Laffoley Flight

  c) Open to players with a “competition” CONGU handicap.

  d) Players must be 70 years of age or over on the starting date of the competition.

2. Stage Two: Seniors Championship

a)  Match Play - Category One (Championship) 

    i) The players with the 8 lowest gross scores after the qualifying round will  compete in the match play stages. Ties for the eighth place 

        will be decided in accordance with item 8 of the JGU General Conditions.

   ii) They will be seeded according to their qualifying place finish.

  iii) Each match will consist of one round of 18 holes.

  iv) Any match finishing “all square” after 18 holes will continue until one player wins a hole. 

b) Match Play – Category One (Handicap)

    i) The players with the 4 best handicap scores after the qualifying round, after excluding the four players with thelowest gross scores, 

       will compete in the match play stages. Ties for fourth place will be decided in accordance with item 8 of the JGU General Conditions.

   ii) They will be seeded according to their handicap stroke play finishing place.

  iii) Each match will consist of one round of 18 holes.

  iv) The player with the lowest handicap in each match will give strokes to the other in  accordance with CONGU rules.

  v) Any match that finishes “all square” after 18 holes will continue until one side wins  a hole.

3. Stage Three: Seniors Championship Age Groups

a) Match Play

      i) The players with the 4 best stableford scores in each age group after the qualifying  round will compete in the match play stages. 

     In the case of ties for the fourth place  the count-back (JGU General Condition 8) will apply.

     ii) They will be seeded according to their stableford finish.

    iii) Each match will consist of one round of 18 holes.

    iv) The player with the lowest handicap in each match will give strokes to the other in  accordance with CONGU rules.

    v) Any match that finishes “all square” after 18 holes will continue until one side wins  a hole. 

4. Category Three:  Super Seniors Championship

a) Match Play - Championship

   i) The two players with the best stableford scores after the qualifying round will compete in the championship final. 

       In the case of ties for the second stableford place count-back (JGU General Condition 8) will apply.

  ii) They will be seeded according to their stableford finishing place.

  iii) The final will consist of one round of 18 holes.

  iv) The player with the lowest handicap in the final will give strokes to the other in  accordance with CONGU rules.

  v) If the final finishes “all square” after 18 holes play will continue until one player wins a hole.

 c) Match Play – Age Groups

    i) The two players with the best stableford scores excluding the two players qualifying for the Championship 

       final will compete in the age group finals. In the case of ties for the second stableford place count back 

       (JGU General Condition 8) will apply.

   ii) They will be seeded according to their stableford finishing place.

   iii) Each match will consist of one round of 18 holes.

  iv) The player in each final with the lowest handicap will give strokes to the other in  accordance with CONGU rules.

   v) Any match finishing “all square” after 18 holes will continue until one player wins a hole.
